More Dead Rising 2 in December

Dead Rising 2: Case West
Capcom announced that the Xbox 360 exclusive Case West addition to Dead Rising 2 will be releasing in December – word on what day is still lacking.

Teaming Chuck with Dead Rising’s Frank West offers access to Frank’s camera for all your photo taking needs, along with new combo weapons and items. Perhaps more importantly, Capcom mentions that players going through the game solo will take control of Chuck, while Frank will be AI controlled, a mode in which Frank cannot be killed. As for deciding who gets to be Frank in co-op mode, I recommend rock, paper, scissors.

Review – Auditorium HD

Having grown out of a flash game, Auditorium has perhaps hit the big time with this high-definition console release, and it’s not difficult to see why. A curious puzzling experience that’s as interesting to listen to and look at as it is to play, Auditorium HD brings an entirely unique sensory experience to players.

The objective is simple: move the colored light into the appropriately colored receptacle. The path (and later, color) of the light can be changed through the use of a number of spherical pieces afforded to the player in each stage. By changing the position and size of these spheres, the light can be directed to fill the appropriate receptacles, completing the stage and unlocking further stages. Auditorium supports the PlayStation Move controller, but I reviewed with the standard controller.

Refresh Rate – Devil’s Crush

Devils Crush
The Wii’s Virtual Console is one of the most versatile “selling points” of the three current generation consoles since it offers, as is my case, a gateway into one’s childhood at an affordable price and grants an opportunity to relive the 80’s and 90’s in all of its pixels to single shade polygons splendor. And don’t say an NES game is too expensive at 500 Wii points – remember the actual price of an original NES cartridge back in the day?

Now with an introductory paragraph in the usual review style out of the way, let me tell you a story about a young married couple that one day found themselves immersed in the claws of a harmless, even charming looking videogame.

Q&A – Remedy Talks Alan Wake

Alan Wake
On my list of most significant games of 2010, it shouldn’t surprise regular readers and sugarfiends if I give a nod to Alan Wake – though even after reviewing the game and two installments of DLC, I still feel as if I haven’t captured the essence of the “why” behind that. Remedy’s work with Wake has left a lingering impression on me, a game I’m certain to remember for many years to come, which increasingly seems like one of the most significant accomplishments a videogame can achieve.

Despite my trouble of always putting exact words to that experience, I did cobble together some questions about the game and specifically about the DLC chapters that followed, which Remedy writer Mikko Rautalahti was good enough to take the time to answer.

Catch it after the break.
