Kojima Productions – Two Down, One to Go?

Kojima Productions
Kojima Productions’ E3 site got an update since I last took a look at it, leaving a pretty wide space for everyone to start shouting out their favorite possibilities for what a third mystery E3 reveal title might be.

I’m going to shout-out Zone of the Enders 3 from now until we find out, but don’t let that spoil your fun if you’re after something else. Also expect to find out the answer sometime between the Sony Press Conference today and Konami’s own Press Conference tomorrow.

Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade 2010

Summer of Arcade
Microsoft is once again grouping together some key XBLA titles this summer under their “summer of arcade” theme. This year’s titles include Lara Croft’s new venue in The Guardian of Light, reborn water racer Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, Indie title Limbo, and the death sport reality show themed Monday Night Combat.

Of those titles mentioned, I know Lara Croft will set you back 1200 MS Points so far – we’ll get more info on the others to you as it comes in.

In the meantime I can offer you a montage trailer after the break, if you’re interested.

Dead Space 2: Electric Boogaloo

Footage from EA’s press conference is presently being dispersed throughout the internets, and one of the items to filter out is the impending Dead Space 2. What’s obvious is that Visceral would actually like you to use some of your weapons this time around; whereas in the original game your plasma cutter was the only weapon you ever needed—and often the most efficient, too boot—this footage emphasizes the efficacy of some of your other options. The largely combat-ineffective kinesis module from the first game has been revamped; we can see the player sever a bladed enemy limb with the plasma cutter, snatch it up with kinesis and launch it back for an instant kill, quickly and efficiently.

The demo begins with Isaac in a decorative church, a far cry from the strictly function halls and chambers of the Ishimura, and goes on to feature a fantastic view of the Sprawl, the massive space-based city in which the game takes place. If you had your fill of cramped corridors in the original, Dead Space 2 looks to offer superior variety with the same exceptional design. See for yourself after the break.

Check Your Enthusiam – When Star Wars Meets Kinect

Kinect Star Wars
I guess anytime you want to create excitement for a piece of gaming hardware, you could still drag the Star Wars license into it. Okay maybe I don’t entirely believe that, but it did help get me to buy a Gamecube back in the day.

As for the bit of Star Wars Microsoft had to show at their Press Conference today, ideally to demonstrate a harder core of game for Kinect…

Keep in mind people always tell me that this or that might be early in development, and certainly that’s true. But it’s also true that you bring the best you have to an event such as this, and this video has bizarrely taken me back to the days of Rebel Assault, and offers up a short battle that looks as if storm troopers are playing laser ping pong.

Take it with a grain of salt I suppose, either way I think it’s kinda hilarious to watch, after the break.

The 360 Slim, Now Shipping

Xbox 360 Slim
They waited until the last minutes of the Press Conference to announce it – in fact I was seriously wondering what was going on, but the Xbox 360 Slim made its appearance after months of rumor and speculation. On the list of things I wasn’t expecting, certainly built-in Wireless of the N variety, and that it would be shipping to stores today. The 250 GB hard drive wasn’t nearly as much of a surprise, and it remains to be seen if it’s whisper quiet like they say – also it’s $299 in case you were wondering.

The only thing more surprising was the Oprah moment where everyone in the audience found out that they’d be receiving a slim courtesy of Microsoft. Well, either that or not getting any price point on Kinect… :/

UPDATE – Word is our friends in Europe can expect the slim on July 16
UPDATE 2 – Internal Removable 250 GB Hard Drive
