PSA – Your Shiny Pokémon Await

Shiny Pokemon
A friendly reminder came our way that Pokémon fans can get a jump on Nintendo’s upcoming Black & White versions via a GameStop offer in the US and Canada starting today, as well as get their hands on some shiny Pokémon.

If you’re in possession of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver versions, there’s a trio of Shiny Pokémon up for grabs by visiting your nearest GameStop with the game and your DS – namely Raikou, Entei, and Suicune – which apparently can later be transferred to Pokémon Black and/or White in order to unlock yet another Pokémon in either of those two games that isn’t available through regular gameplay – Pokémon Zoroark.

The offer starts today and runs through to February 6, 2011 – breaking down as follows;

Shiny Raikou – January 3rd – January 9th, 2011
Shiny Entei – January 17th – January 23rd, 2011
Shiny Suicune – January 31st – February 6th, 2011

Sonic Colors DS Review
Just how does Dr. Robotnik Eggman have so much money at his disposal? You’d think that the repair bills resulting from his many battles with Sonic the Hedgehog over the years would have put him into bankruptcy by now. Yet time and time again the diabolical Eggman somehow comes up with enough revenue to construct armies of robots, elaborate airship fortresses, and, in the case of Sonic Colors, an interplanetary amusement park.

Did Eggman have a lucrative career thanks to his status as a doctor? Is he independently wealthy? Is he shoulder-deep in credit card debt?

Review – 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors

999 Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors
I recently came to a conclusion: I don’t think I have what it takes to be a survivor. My wife and I were discussing what would happen if a zombie apocalypse actually fell upon mankind, and we both decided we would rather become zombies than deal with the stress of struggling to live on. Neither of us possesses the types of aggressive personalities that would be necessary to cope with the rigors that such a grueling, exhausting existence would bring.

Perhaps the largest and scariest threat of all in any survival scenario comes in the form of other survivors. With zombies, for instance, at least you have an idea of what to expect. They may be relentless, but they all follow similar patterns of behavior. Not so with humans. You never know when your so-called allies might turn on you in order to get a leg up and boost their own chances of living to see another day.

With this in mind, I think it’s safe to say that should I find myself in the situation of protagonist Junpei from 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, I probably wouldn’t even make it through the first challenge he faces.

Dragon Quest VI
Nintendo’s all aflutter announcing that Japan’s exclusive access to Dragon Quest VI is coming to an end, with Realms of Revelation hitting the DS in North America next year – February 14, 2011 to be specific. I know many of you will have been waiting a very long time for this announcement.

As sweet as this news is, I still don’t recommend trying to pass this off as a Valentine’s gift to your sweetheart, unless your significant other is awesome, then by all means proceed.

Also catch the trailer after the break.

Your Sonic Colors Coloring Contest Winners!

Sonic Colors Coloring Contest Winners
I want to thank everyone that took up our artistic challenge and sent in an impressive amount of spins on Sonic.

Bitey the Contest Hedgehog dropped in to give us a hand judging entries, and after many long hours it has been decided that Maria P is the winner of Sonic Colors for the Wii, and Peter Kimball is the winner of Sonic Colors for the DS. Maria’s attention to detail really seemed to win the judges over, while Peter’s complete subversion of the original image was hard to ignore, and a little frightening.

You can catch both winning submissions after the break, as well as all the entries on our Facebook page.
