Waiting For Okamiden

Okamiden
Sometimes I think about the long wait for Okamiden in North America, and I fret about all the accidents that could befall me during such a long expanse of time – it’s a dangerous world out there after all.

But in an attempt to ease my mind, I noticed that Okamiden screenshots practically beg to be comic panels with custom dialogue. I won’t suggest my first attempt is very creative, but you should totally give it a try, if only to eat up some of the wait.

In fact, I insist you give it a try, and send me the results!

Robot Fish & Arcade Dreams

Darius Burst Arcade
Taito’s latest cabinet for the continuing saga of blasting the life robotic aquatic reminds me why it’s miserable living in a place where you’ve got better odds of being struck by lightening than finding an arcade.

Darius Burst Another Chronicle goes uber-wide for four players later this year in Japan according to the official site.

Add this to the list of reasons it may finally be time to organize a very long Gamesugar super-shmup-friends trip overseas.

The [Sign]al

Alan Wake The Signal
As far as DLC doses go, The Signal strengthens my belief that Alan Wake is skirting the edge of something blissfully chaotic and overdue, exciting for the danger it represents to the active player versus the passive consumer of media as a simple plastic by-product of corporate sustainability.

Admittedly I’m six times sucker sweet for words. From Calvino to Canetti, from poetics to the loving lure of the way words connect and flow, of simply crafting sentences that linger and expose pleasure in the cellar door that tingles on the edge of the tongue.

If you’re into that sort of thing, well then read on my fellow fluoroscopic opal rubes.

Explodemon! Lives

Explodemon!
There was never any reason to believe otherwise, but to give you an idea of how long I’ve been waiting to hear more about this title from Curve Studios, well it was slightly before I’d heard of ‘Splosion Man, and over two writing gigs ago according to this long lost post.

At long last Curve says we can expect a PSN release before the end of 2010, whilst still boasting that their 2.5D action will return SNES flavored sensations within the agenda of self-destruction – so fingers crossed kids!

Catch some fresh art from the game after the break.

Every Dog Has Its Day

Solatorobo
Solarobo picked up a name adjustment along with a Japanese DS release date of October 28, 2010, under the name Solatorobo. CyberConnect2’s answer to my forgotten love of Tail Concerto also has a hefty collector’s edition box that brings together the always appreciated artbook and soundtrack cd.

Add to to this a bonus disc with either edition of the game and it seems a safe bet that the only way we’ll ever see these goodies in North America is if XSEED picks the title up.

Check out the game’s site for more details / images / dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria.

Lost in Shadow’s Release Date Materializes

Lost in Shadow
Hudson’s regionally title confusing shadow game is set for a North American release on January 4, 2011 – rather than any previous aspirations for taking on the Fall 2010 crowd – under the name Lost in Shadow.

Along with the announcement we get a peak at a new feature, Materialization, which sees some snazzy swords added to the mix, as well as the ability for our shadow protagonist to become a “creature of light” in order to manipulate physical objects.

Catch a glimpse for yourself after the break.

Your Pokémon Enigma (Stone)

Pokemon
The quest to keep my well worn Pokéwalker in my pocket continues, with news that HeartGold and SoulSilver Pokéfantatics can get their mitts on the Enigma Stone via wifi, and thus a chance to catch elusive Legendary Pokémon, Latias (SoulSilver) or Latios (HeartGold).

According to the fine print, the catch is that only players who have beaten the Elite Four, claimed the National Pokédex, and have two or fewer Wonder Cards can solve the riddle of the Enigma Stone in order to capture Latios or Latias.

So many Pokérules…

I haven’t seen an official news blurb on the Pokémon site yet, but word from the press release I’m looking at is that this opportunity starts on Saturday July 31st and continues through to Friday August 27th.

Update – The HeartGold & SoulSilver site now has the step by step details.
