Nintendo 3DS World Event Videos
Tecmo-Koei offers up over five minutes of video trailer-ing Dead or Alive: Dimensions for the 3DS, possibly confirming that bullets and daggers will fly out of the screen with lethal efficiency – the video also shows a list of moves players can apparently activate by tapping with the stylus.

Additional “all things 3DS” video offers up a different five minute ride, running through an overview of the hardware powering this brave new portable 3D future.

Good Morning 3DS

Nintendo World 3DS Event
Nintendo’s Japanese 3DS event kicked off this weekend and Internet headlines erupted, particularly with the additional specs on the battery life – 3-5 hours when using the 3D in 3DS, and 5-8 hours when gaming the old fashioned way.

What’s interesting while slurping my coffee this morning is the list of titles slated for Spring and Summer 2011 via Nintendo’s 3DS page, which despite all the buzz Capcom has captured over the past few months show the biggest early contributors to the 3DS library so far as Ubisoft, Namco and Konami.

Ubisoft has 5 games listed – Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D as a February 26th launch title, and Spring 2011 showing Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, Splinter Cell 3D, Driver Renegade, and Rabbits Time Travel.

Another interesting tidbit is the initial launch pricing presently attached to February titles – Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle launches alongside the system for 5,980 Yen ($72 USD) while Ridge Racer 3D runs 6,090 Yen ($73.3 USD) – assuredly making Nintendogs + Cats a steal at 4,800 Yen ($58 USD) – keep in mind those are just USD conversions and not final US pricing.

Plenty more bits of info litter Nintendo’s Japanese 3DS Site, so check it out.

Kentucky Route Zero

Kentucky Route Zero
I’m fascinated with the game glimpsed at in the trailer for Kentucky Route Zero. A wonderful tone is set for a fantastic looking adventure game with its slow bluegrass and presentation of quiet, mysterious scenes. I can’t wait to try the game when it’s released, but right now the devs are looking to the community for the funding to get this project off the ground.

If you have an interest in magical realism, or games that appeal to your literary sensibilities, or just like funding indie devs with creative ideas, then you can support this title via a donation through Kickstarter. A thorough description of the game as well as some awesome supporter rewards can be checked out there as well.

Check out the trailer for Kentucky Route Zero after the break.

Capcom at CES

Capcom CES 2011
Other late night CES news I didn’t notice while distracted features a release date for Capcom’s sequel to Bionic Commando Rearmed, which hits the PlayStation 3 on February 1, 2011 for $14.99 and the 360 a day later for 1200 MS Points.

Okamiden also gets some love with more art, video, and screens showing off another partner for Chibi, Kurow, along with a wind based mini-game as well as what appears to be a Chibiterasu jam session in the sky.

Okamiden is still set to hit the Nintendo DS on March 15, 2011.

Hard Corps Uprising
Late night CES emails from Microsoft catch my eye when they appear to out Konami dates, and so here we are. In an announcement regarding a lineup of titles for an Xbox Live Arcade House Party, Microsoft has ARC System Works’ Hard Corps: Uprising set for release on February 16th.

Additional titles for the five week house party include Beyond Good and Evil HD, Bejeweled Blitz Live, and Torchlight.

Keeping Up With Grubbins

Costume Quest Grubbins on Ice
Costume Quest’s DLC retains everything from previous save files, making it easy to put a unicorn costume back on while also trying coveted battle stamps with the new costumes Grubbins on Ice offers. The DLC is an extension of Costume Quest so there isn’t anything new introduced in the gameplay – if you haven’t tried Double Fine’s downloadable trick or treat title as of yet, you may want to catch our original review.

The later PlayStation 3 release found me catching up with Grubbins on Ice during the Holiday break, and the DLC actually takes place during the winter as well. Everett and Lucy have been hypothesizing about the monsters they fought on Halloween night, and begin searching for tangible evidence, all of which leads to Lucy getting kidnapped after stumbling upon a receiver in the snow that opens up a portal – of course Everett, Wren and Reynold are left with no choice but to suit up and save her.
