Hey Kids, It’s Trish!

Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Capcom sent an email to remind me that if I were at Comic Con this week I could be playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3, le sigh. However if you happen to be there you can catch the latest build at their booth (#4844).

If like myself you are not there, you can try to make do with some screens of Trish kicking ass in what I’ll have to assume is an Umbrella Facility, unless Doctor Doom is researching the G Virus now.

Your Translated Dose of Metroid Developer Talk

Metroid Other M
It’s a glorious Saturday when you discover that someone was good enough to tackle translating and subtitling Nintendo’s Japanese developer feature for Metroid: Other M – so be sure to drop by and thank them.

To be honest, the language barrier didn’t stop me from already watching the two videos several times over with limited comprehension – Metroid footage is universal, kinda like the language of love as far as I’m concerned.

That said, being able to follow along and hear about some of the challenges in developing the latest release in the franchise is not to be missed – so catch it after the break.

Your Morning Bit of Zen

Meow Meow Happy Fight
Can you ever be too happy? Big Pixel Studios seems to think so, and is unleashing Meow Meow Happy Fight for the iPhone – wherein a giant Happy Cat decides that the future is too happy and travels back in time to bring a new mix of happiness and destruction to Tokyo.

Okay, maybe I’m just mentioning the game because I wanted to type that description – if you called your game Super Happy Zombie Flower Hour I’d probably want to write about it a little too.

As far as the game goes, Big Pixel says the dual-stick shooter offers 24 levels, 15 characters, 12 power-ups and of course that one previously mentioned happy cat.

Catch a trailer after the break if only for the novelty factor.

Your Okamiden Import Temptation

Okamiden
Apparently Capcom wants to ensure no one ever releases a more legendary collector’s edition for a videogame, ever. My evidence for this comes via the Japanese CE for Okamiden, which offers a giant box to help store the swag accompanying the game – bonus soundtrack, DVD, illustrated book, tiny plushie, and perhaps the cutest earphones ever created.

It’s official – Capcom is absolutely vomiting rainbows full of Okamiden swag.

Check it out over at E-Capcom.

Your No More Heroes 2 Overdose

No More Heroes 2
On the short list of import worthy releases from Japan, the Hopper’s Edition of No More Heroes 2 that Famitsu recently revealed for an October 21, 2010 release is in a league of its own.

Compensation for the wait for more Travis Touchdown offers up one very shiny yellow box that includes the game, an artbook, soundtrack cd, and an additional bonus DVD.

Our friendly neighborhood Marvelous Rep tells me that the added DVD contains two “animes”, one about the events of the original No More Heroes, and another detailing events during the three year space between the two games – plus a documentary about the Japanese voice actors.

Both the regular release and this hopped-up edition also offer a No More Heroes comic as a pre-order present.

Your Recommended Dose of Ys Seven

Ys Seven
The above screen may cause you to think that “Michael Wootton” is a curious choice of name for a random RPG character, but it in fact belongs to one of the winners of XSEED’s contest that offered fans a chance to attach their name to the upcoming release of Ys Seven – also known as the first shot in a landslide of Falcom goodness for your PSP.

Ys Seven, along with one very sweet collector’s edition, is set to release summer 2010 – which caused me to mention that it was summer 2010, which in turn caused someone to remind me that the summer doesn’t end until the first of September. If that sounds unhelpful, Amazon says August 17.

In the meantime XSEED sent that screen along with a bit of art, which you can catch after the break.

Your Piece of Wonderland

Alice
On the off chance you ever fall down a rabbit hole and end up in the darker side of your warped imagination, Epic Weapons is offering the opportunity to at least look as if you could defend yourself and possibly take down a Jabberwocky – with a 1,000 piece production run on this replica Vorpal Blade from American McGee’s Alice.

The piece will cut about $90 out of your wallet, and an extra $20 if you dig the stand. If you’re looking for more of a potential bargain, the first 25 blades will be up for live auction from July 22 – July 31 with pre-registration starting today – you can get more info on that over here.
