Your Wednesday Dose of Zen

Arcana Heart 3
Arc System Works is bringing another dose of elaborately costumed female fighting to home consoles in Japan with Arcana Heart 3 hitting the 360 and PS3 there on January 13th.

I rather enjoyed the one dose available on the PlayStation 2 here, and at no extra charge gained an anecdote involving an gamestore employee convinced that surely Kingdom Hearts was what we meant to say, but no in fact, Hearts differ from Highlanders in that there can be more than one.

PSA – Both Editions of Muchi Muchi Pork! & Pink Sweets are Region Free

Muchi Muchi Pork and Pink Sweets
The only thing sweeter than Cave putting two shooters on one 360 disc was the recent revelation that the February release would also be region free. Since then I’ve received a few emails from readers wanting to confirm that this applied to both the regular and limited edition of the release.

As the title of this post subtlety suggests, Cave confirmed that regardless of which edition grabs your fancy, both are region free for your importing needs –

Yes, both versions will be region free. The reason they are asking is because Espgaluda II’s LE was region-locked while the SE was region-free. This was due to the decision to go region-free being made last minute, whereas this time we had a lot of feedback to make the Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets pack region free.

Images Worth A Few Words – Aya Brea Edition

The Third Birthday
I’ve tuned out on The 3rd Birthday over the last few months, mostly in order to skip Square-Enix’s strange new desire to twitter every last detail away during the lead up to the Japanese release of Aya’s PSP debut.

It’s hard to ignore this image of Aya in her now bloodstained wedding dress however, gracing the cover of Dengeki PlayStation, so I suppose Squeenix still knows how to grab my attention when push comes to shove.

Your Recommended Dose of Cave

Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets
Cave’s released a trailer for one sweet 360 disc that brings together shooters Pink Sweets and Muchi Muchi Pork, set to release on February 24 in Japan with a standard and limited edition – either one sure to satisfy the quota on bullets, eye candy, and pigs.

Fellow Cave enthusiasts can hit the official site here, or catch the trailer after the break.

Your Recommended Dose of Import Nostalgia

PSN Imports
MonkeyPaw Games grants two flashback import wishes on PlayStation Network this week, with Money Idol Exchanger and Sonic Wings Special, both of which release tomorrow for $5.99 a piece – under the Import tab in the PSone Classic section.

This seemed significant for two reasons –

1 – Money Idol Exchanger’s economic puzzle challenge stands out in my mind most because someone gave me hell for not mentioning it when reviewing Critter Crunch last year.
2 – Sonic Wings deserves a mention entirely because one can never have too many military based 2D shooters – it’s a fact.

Catch some hurriedly grabbed YouTube footage after the break.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 Demo
I’ve got a hunch that some of you might be up for taking an early spin with The Nameless via the Japanese demo for Valkyria Chronicles 3. I’m hoping to find time to check it out tonight myself, but why should you wait for me to play and blab about it when you can grab it for yourself right now!

Persona 2: Innocent Sin – Then and Now

Persona 2: Innocent Sin
Leaving no Japanese stone unturned, Famitsu turns up intro video for the recently revealed PSP edition of Persona 2: Innocent Sin. As much as knee-jerk fanism makes me excited at the probability of finally seeing a packaged version of Innocent Sin in North America, I’m having a hard time imagining how Atlus might go about bringing it here – mostly because one imagines that other Persona 2 will turn up as well, and confuse the hell out of us poor consumers.

I’m not even trying to be sarcastic there either, writing about two Persona 2’s could get really confusing. Makes me wonder if Atlus will make us wait here for some sort of double-pack super-duper Persona 2 edition that proves too tempting to simply write off as “another one of those damn Atlus PSP ports.”

But who knows.

In the meantime, I thought it might be fun to check out this new video alongside that of the original PSOne release.
