Possibly Kicking A Dead Horse

Love Plus+
The girls of Love Plus + in 1/8th toy form, via Konami Style – now you can bring something a little more physical home to meet your parents.

That’s pretty much all I’ve got beyond mentioning that the girls appear to come with several different hairstyles to suit most any occasion.

Expressing Your Love in Public

Love Plus Arcade
I didn’t think the saga of Love Plus could get any stranger than carrying your girlfriend around on your DS, and in at least one case marrying it, so touche Konami on this apparent Love Plus Arcade sneak attack. Keep in mind what I don’t know about this deal at the moment could fill a warehouse – is this the speed dating edition? Is there a slot where you can give it gifts? Could I have more fun speculating all day long versus actually knowing? You bet!

I’m not sure how many readers here are in Japan and near enough to the upcoming location test, but if you’re into public displays of affection you can check out Konami’s page here.

Skeptical Cat vs. The Strangest Package Ever

Filed under: News Feed — Tags: — Skeptical Cat @ 12:17 pm

Skeptical Cat
Skeptical Cat is all about family, mostly because they all know where Skeptical Cat lives so it’s hard to get away from them when they want something. Most recently Skeptical Cat was stuck with a visit from new cousin Curious Cat.

While Skeptical Cat feels that kittens are both a pain and cause office productivity to suffer, Curious Cat did make a most interesting discovery while sorting the morning mail. Skeptical Cat feels certain that this mysterious package is the strangest thing to ever arrive at the office.

Skeptical Cat invites you to see for yourself after the break, and apologizes if the potential cute abuse causes anyone to vomit rainbows or suffer injuries.

Tactics Ogre
Square-Enix went and made it all official.

Yes, it’s clear that it was much more than a hunch.

That this group would revisit a classic franchise.

That’s the way they all become the Tactics Ogre Bunch!

Your Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Shocker

Okami
Of all the things that could have happened over night, I certainly wouldn’t have guessed Capcom was gonna get Okami all up in their Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Of course, wolves don’t typically attack unless provoked, most often via dwindling food sources or someone getting too close to their young, so unless you get between Amaterasu and a ham sandwich or a copy of Okamiden, the confrontation may prove anti-climatic.

Judge for yourself after the break.

Your Recommended Dose of Hard Corps: Uprising

Hard Corps: Uprising
Not to be left out of the Comic Con fun, Konami has released assets for several games, only one of which is Hard Corps: Uprising, mighty focus of my attention.

Think lush, think vivid, think of how awesome it is when it rains in 2D. I know it’s premature, but I love you Arc System Works.

Catch a fresh batch of screens after the break.

Demon’s Souls Gets Life Extension

Demon's Souls
One of the more interesting emails I received today was a press release announcing Atlus’ continuing support for Demon’s Souls with news that they would extend North American online support through to at least March 2011. A big part of the reason I find this interesting is because I had no idea there was any concern about the game losing that support anytime soon – such thoughts simply never occurred to me.

So it’s good news for veterans and newcomers alike that Atlus will be keeping the lights on, with the world tendency system even shifting to pure white for a couple of weeks in celebration. That’s great news and all, at least until March.

However, considering that the game won’t even be a year old in North America until October 6, I’m not sure I like the state of affairs when we hand out cookies for things we used to take for granted. I’m not trying to be a downer here, I know everything is disposable and the next big game is the priority, the new economy and all that jazz – I’m just saying it feels odd.

Anyway, you tell me, how long should a game based around creating online communities on a major console be supported?
