Love Notes – X-Men Arcade

X Men Arcade
Konami’s 1992 side-scrolling beat ’em up is one of the few arcade games I hold a great deal of nostalgic love for. Buy me a coffee sometime and I’ll regall you with stories about loitering near any building that housed the game, from the last of the arcades in my area to the seedy poolhalls that later served as poor but functional substitutes.

Konami was able to turn anything into a beat ’em up back in the day, from the Ninja Turtles to The Simpsons, but only The X-Men had six glorious arcade sticks jutting out of an over sized cabinet that cried out for my quarters – so it’s safe to say that I’m pretty stoked to see the game hit XBLA and PSN this week.

Your Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Shocker

Of all the things that could have happened over night, I certainly wouldn’t have guessed Capcom was gonna get Okami all up in their Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Of course, wolves don’t typically attack unless provoked, most often via dwindling food sources or someone getting too close to their young, so unless you get between Amaterasu and a ham sandwich or a copy of Okamiden, the confrontation may prove anti-climatic.

Judge for yourself after the break.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 – Social Media and Gamers Unite

Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Since the original release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 the world has been introduced and changed by social media, especially the world of gaming. Facebook, Twitter, blogging, commenting, Flickr… these are all familiar elements of our days, often when we should be working. And when we’re not being “socially connected” in that sense, a growing majority of gamers are connected via Xbox Live or PSN, even when we’re not actively playing a game.
