Hey there kids!
This week I’m catching up with the zombie filled streets of Sega’s latest Yakuza game, and though I’m not quite finished grinding through the horde, I do have a chance to offer fans an opportunity to score some Dead Souls swag, courtesy of Sega of America.
Sega’s gone a little cosplay crazed, so three lucky people have the chance to win a prize pack consisting of Goro’s signature eye-patch, Shun Akiyama’s necklace, a dragoon tattoo sleeve, and a pack of Yakuza playing cards.
All you have to do to enter is hit up the comment section of this post between now and 11:59pm est on Sunday April 1st, 2012 – and tell me why you’re a fan of the series. If you’ve never played a Yakuza game before but find yourself curious now, you can alternatively tell me what sparked your interest. On Monday April 2nd I’ll pick three of you at random, so please make sure to use a valid email address when leaving your comment.
Good luck!
Oh, nice! I’ve never played a Yakuza game, but since now it has been merged with Zombies… how can I say no?

I’ve never played a Yakuza game, but I do love zombies. Who doesn’t love zombies? They’re so universally loveable.

This is awesome! Honestly, I have never been a huge Zombie person but my interest was sparked because I AM a Huge Cosplay person, and I LOVE anything Japanese or Anime related! An American Otaku. Saw this and it looks awesome! Now I think I will go and play the game. :)

I’ve been a fan ever since the first game on the PS2. Kazuma Kiryu is the ultimate bad ass and won’t even think twice about slamming a guy’s face into a wall!

I have to confess, I’ve never played it before but the constant talk about Yakuza has caught on to my attention. I’m always ready to experience a new feel of gaming and this just might be the beginning of something beautiful!

I’ve never played a Yakuza game before, but when has Sega made a poor quality game? Never! I keep seeing posts and tweets about it, so I’m interested…
Comment by Psirockin — March 28, 2012 @ 5:16 pm
Yay, I’m interested because of the Zombies

I’ve played a Yakuza game before. I love everything from Japan. If playing as a badass Yakuza member doesn’t make you feel badass, then i don’t what will.

Im caught up on the Yakuza series, except for Dead Souls. I like the concept behind the series and I like the story a lot. The characters are also really well developed. ^_^

Anything goes with this series, lots of action, lots of fun side quests and mini games to play. Reminisce of Saint’s Row and GTA which I also love to play. Also it’s in a sense the spiritual successor of Shenmue which adds to my love of this game.

I Like Yakuza Because its a game series that’s is very under rated in the U.S. the Plots are Some of the Best I’ve Seen in Years , The Games Had Made me cry(not going to spoil anything here). The Gameplay it fantastic and it never gets old for me. However no one Seems to recognize the series Greatness which really upsets me

I’m a fan of Yakuza because winners are picked at random in this competition, and I don’t have to justify myself sincerely.

Who doesn’t like the Yakuza games?! Come on chasing kitties through downtown and helping kids solve their childhood crush issues, while kicking the butts of gang members! Sooo awesome!
Mix that with zombies, and you’ve got one heck of a game! That’s why I’m a fan! I just need an eye patch and one of those blasters and I’m ready for any zombie that comes my way!

I’m a fan of the series because of the stories. The “criminal with the heart of gold” is so masterfully depicted in these games that it makes me love playing them to seehow the story will unfold next. Truthfully I love just about everything in the Yakuza series (combat, mini games), but the story is always superlative.

Yakuza has always been on my gaming radar, just haven’t had enough money these days to buy games, but i’ll get back on my feet soon and imma try and get all of em :)
Comment by eghostx — March 28, 2012 @ 5:25 pm
I just want it, no reason from me :)
Comment by Angar — March 28, 2012 @ 5:28 pm
I always wanted to play the game but I either could not find it in stores or had the money to pick it up. (Only the money part is true now, and it has been true for a long time now T_T)

I am a
fan of Yakuza games and movies for a long time. In addition I like Zombie games
and movies as well. What would fit me better than a clash of both worlds?
Yakuza’s thugs would surely have the balls to survive the Zombie Apocalypse (or
maybe they would lose their cojones trying).
It is just like Kazuma’s famous quote: “Yare Yare Daze” which can be translated
as “Make sushi out of all of these already dead shithead rotten zombies”.

I’ve loved Yakuza because of its praised accuracy to the red light district and portraying alot of Japanese facets. Plus Majima is just too insanely funny in every entry.

The reason why I like the Yakuza series. Because it reminds me of the awsome Shenmue series, for the Xbox and the Dreamcast days!
