Star Wars: The Old Republic
Back at E3 2009, Bioware’s cinematic glimpse into The Old Republic stole plenty of attention, almost entirely by offering fans hope that the franchise could regain some cred after years of abuse. This year is no different, except that the latest cinematic take on the game might put expectations through the roof.

Catch over five minutes of what is undoubtedly the only Star Wars game you need to care about this week, after the break.

UPDATE – EA went and yanked the video, see, I’ve been telling you those guys are no fun for years and there’s more proof :/
UPDATE 2 – Video is Back

  1. Hadouken! I’m pretty much an Original Trilogy guy… so this whole good Stormtrooper / multi Sith thing confuses me. The trailer was neat however. What makes this different than the Force Unleashed? Besides the good / bad guys.

  2. Well, I’m being a bit of a jerk, but I feel like you can bank on Bioware, whereas Force Unleashed 2 has to arrive without insanity inducing bugs. If FU2 doesn’t explode when I try to play it, it might be the other Star Wars game you should care about.

Also Old Republic and APB are the first big online games that make me reconsider the fact that I never feel like I have time for online games.

  4. Good lord, I just started playing Force Unleashed this weekend… and there was serious slow down issues, as well as mind boggling load times to get to the options menus etc… How did this game re-release with a special edition? Am disappoint. :\

  5. Video looked interesting but do we really need that many Star Wars game at the moment when all we need is Rogue Squadron collection on Wii?
