Okamiden
Capcom’s updated the Japanese Okamiden site, which you can visit here, adding new details about bonus items, new wallpaper, and most importantly a release date of September 30, 2010 for the spiritual continuation of the series.

It’s definitely worth a visit – you can update your Okamiden art collection and watch some trailers before returning to wondering what portion of 2011 Capcom intends to leave the rest of us waiting for.

  1. I’m a little torn over this title… it makes me happy that Okami lives on… but it makes me sad that Kamiya isn’t involved and it makes him sad too.

  2. I think what’s got me hanging on, aside from the cute abuse that demands attention everytime I see video, is that it at least isn’t a direct Okami 2 bastardization.

The thing about Kamiya, or Mikami, or Inaba, or any of them, is that they are always moving on to something that promises to amaze me just as much as their previous work, but in new ways and (hopefully) with bold new ideas. I’m not sure anyone could make an Okami followup that makes the impression on me the original did, so if Capcom can get something out of going slightly sideways on it, I’m willing to give it a go.

  4. Loved Okami on Wii and having another game set in that universe is always great. Look at things as how it’s been in the God of War franchise since each game has had a different director.
