Who Is Joe Danger?

Joe Danger
On this slowest of gaming news days, Hello Games takes center stage on the PlayStation Blog with news and another look at their cartoon stuntman title Joe Danger.

The game adheres to Sony’s Play, Create, Share philosophy, allowing players to create challenges and races for friends – at anytime whilst riding through the game players can freeze the world and enter an edit mode.

Hello Games says the title is also made up of eleven tours with up to ten levels a piece to offer modes like Target Smash, Assault Course, Race, Coin Dash, Bowling Bounce and a Puzzle Mode.

Doesn’t seem to be any word on pricing just yet, which is always a doubly important factor when considering the mileage on such titles – Hello Games did say they were working to keep the European release date as close to North America’s as possible.

With the game set to launch via the PlayStation Network on June 8, 2010, I’d expect some more info soon. In the meantime you can catch a trailer after the break.

  1. I see a lot of coverage of this game and it always sounds like it’s a Playstation exclusive, but I’m pretty sure it’s coming to 360 too…

Here is a Youtube video showing the 360 control layout in the game.
It’s at about the 1:15 second mark the person skips quickly by the 360 instructions menu.

  2. For sure, there hasn’t been a lot to go on about exclusivity until today when they called it the PS3-exclusive.

Originally the game was being pitched across the board I believe – today on the PlayStation Blog, specifically in the comments Sean Murray was asked (#43) “this isn’t really a ps3 exclusive, is it? in the video, you can see the A-Button on the ramp at 0:56”

and replied to the question with,

“You have good eyesight! It’s coming out exclusively to PS3 on June 8th. That button glitch is a really long story. Short answer is it was an old bug and an icon image that snuck in from a PC build! The kind of weird bug that keeps us up all night.”

  3. It looks like a more charmish Trials game.

  4. I was saying the same thing to Jamie; it’s LittleBigTrials.

  5. Considering it’s part of the “Create.Build.Play” (or something like that) type of games (LBP and Mod) it falls into the type of game I don’t have the time to play since I like getting trophies and you know this games will require me to create 20 levels or rate 100 or play 200 or something like that…

  6. I’m kinda the exact same way, and I earnestly feel bad about that because I ignore a lot of creation tools. I think I’m in the gray age area where I’m not young enough to want to tear into designing stages and not old enough to have the time. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it :/
