Yakuza Dead Souls Contest
Hey there kids!

This week I’m catching up with the zombie filled streets of Sega’s latest Yakuza game, and though I’m not quite finished grinding through the horde, I do have a chance to offer fans an opportunity to score some Dead Souls swag, courtesy of Sega of America.

Sega’s gone a little cosplay crazed, so three lucky people have the chance to win a prize pack consisting of Goro’s signature eye-patch, Shun Akiyama’s necklace, a dragoon tattoo sleeve, and a pack of Yakuza playing cards.

All you have to do to enter is hit up the comment section of this post between now and 11:59pm est on Sunday April 1st, 2012 – and tell me why you’re a fan of the series. If you’ve never played a Yakuza game before but find yourself curious now, you can alternatively tell me what sparked your interest. On Monday April 2nd I’ll pick three of you at random, so please make sure to use a valid email address when leaving your comment.

Good luck!

  1. I never played Yakuza Series but i heard a lot about it from a friend and I started looking for Copies of the game but I couldn’t find any so I’m looking to start a Yakuza series collection and hope soon will find a copy of the game.

  2. As an over 30 gamer I’ve seen it all from Intellivison to current generation and I have to admit, it gets harder and harder to make a game that captivates you. Usually, I’ll be moaning about how this generation of gaming has lost the magic but I also wonder if it just me getting older. Well, the Yakuza series brings back those old feelings of being excited and not wanting to stop playing so I can unfold the story and enjoy the humour and fun at the same time. This series has it all from replay factor to challening modes. I am a fan bigtime, I own them all and this series restored my faith in gaming.

  3. Yakuza: Dead Souls was actually the game that got me interested in the Yakuza series, plus I’m a huge SEGA fan. While looking for gameplay of the series, it reminded me of Shenmue, Grand Thief Auto, and Mafia 2. So far I have Yakuza 1, 3, and 4 :D

  4. Yakuza is like a foreign-film. It gives us a taste of a different culture that we can play out. It’s just so engrossing and the story keeps you hooked. It’s a series unlike any other in the West

  5. I heard that Yakuza was the spiritual successor to the Shenmue series.  I took a chance on the series during a sale at Gamestop and bought a used copy of the original Yakuza.  Ever since I played that game, I’ve tracked down every single sequel in the series.  It is also a nice change to the usual first person shooter or platformer.

  6. Yakuza is awesome. Kiryu is hot. I’ve been following his adventures since the game first came out. As long as Yakuza’s alive, Sega will never die!!!!

  7. I play a lot of action and free roam games and I have to say Yakuza’s among the best ones I played. There’s a great cast of characters and (sub)stories, and great street fights.
